Some Sunday Sinks

Fall is sure a showing and winter is sure a coming. Stupid snow is about to come here, supposedly. That ought to be loads of fun. Cold is fine. Snow isn't. Unless you can sit indoors and watch it and never go anywhere until it melts. Then I'm with you.

Well, I guess that was a short trip that way. Time to turn around. Wait! It fell in the woods. I wasn't there to hear it. Did it make a sound? If you are pfffft-ing like the cat, then the cat gives you props. Isn't that so dumb? Of course it made a sound. Unless some sound-sucking demon rises up from the underworld, it made a damn sound. That's like me telling you I took a leak and you asking if anything came out. You weren't there to see it, so did it really come out? Pfffft. Okay, turning around now.

I guess it's lunch time. But these ones have feathers. The cat is too domesticated for that. Yeah, we already proved that much to my dislike. Do I have a point here? Not really. I just thought you'd like to see the chickens and discuss which came first. Hey, it's better than the stupid tree and sound thing.

And look what we have here. A top-notch douchebag. What makes one think they are so privileged that they can take up two parking spots? There are occasions when you might have to take up a little of a second, as people can't park great, you can't park great, etc., BUT to just pull into two wide open ones and park right in the middle? REALLY? And then to walk off like your crap don't stink. Right. Top-notch douchebag is putting it lightly. Yep. I watched the whole thing. SHE, it was a she, drove right in and parked it right there and then strolled off. Maybe that tree will fall on her car. Then there would be lots of sounds.

If good fences make good neighbors, does it still count when you can see through said fence and the dog can stretch up to the top of said fence? Does good barking make good neighbors? Does me barking as I go by causing it to bark further make good neighbors? Would that make me what my grandmother calls me, a little asshole? Maybe a shit disturber? You know, both of those are rather dirty when you really think about them. Who'd want to disturb it? I think we may need a better fence.

We have now reached a fork in the road. We have no signal because it is way way way out in the woods. We have never been here before and don't know which one we need to get to where we want to go. So which one do we take? Which one would you take? Would you turn around and go back to the safety of what you know? Would you drive on through until you got to the end of one? Just to note, driving 3 KM down a road that ends and has nowhere to turn is soooo fun. Gets even better when you have to back 3 KM all the way out.

And this is why we don't leave the house. Not even for a mouse.

"For once I agree with your rhyming ass."

Did anything sink in today? Do you pffft at the tree thing? Seen any stupid parking lately? Would you ever park like that on purpose? Get accosted by chickens lately? Got any good fences where you are at? What? Yes. I bark back at the dogs. Hey, I have to get some enjoyment out of the work day. Ready for snow? Have you ever come to any literal forks in the road? Who'd want to throw away cutlery? What? I said literal. See? Always making things sink in. Now we are done with this spin. I'll go back to sleeping with Cass and resting my little rhyming ass.

Let things sink and begin to think.

  1. I will take snow over cold if that is possible. Give me freshly fallen snow but don't give me ice. If it snowed here it would surely be a flake. Stupid parking seems to be all around no matter where one goes.

    1. Yeah, ice sucks. But so does 5 ft of snow and having to trudge through it. Banging your knees against it ain't fun either.

  2. We have not yet had snow,
    But strong winds and rain.
    Causing so much damage,
    causing so much pain.

I hope your Sunday will be great.
    Despite your evident snow.
    May you and your felines.
    Are feeling better by now.

    Yvonne.

Jerks who take up two spots deserve to have someone pull right up next to them.

  6. I giggled at the fork in the road because every time google maps tells me to bear in a certain direction at the fork in the road, my daughter goes on a mad hunt for said fork sitting in the road. As for the double parking, it could have been an accident! Sometime we try real hard and then just feel defeated. We march off in our defeat. Lol. Now if you find bear poop in the woods, let us know to finally solve that debate.

    1. lol well I have seen quite a few forks in the back roads. Not sure why they are there though. Not the plastic kind either. Nope. Dummy just parked right there on purpose, no accident about it as I watched her.

  9. I hate when people park like that, especially if it's in a place where parking is difficult. I also hate when a truck with a trailer pulls into regular parking spot and takes up a bazillion spaces making me have to drive around so long to find a spot that I'm almost late...oh wait, I've gotten way too personal here, haven't I? :D As for snow, it's fun to sled in or play for a bit in, but that's it, period. I could never see it again and be perfectly content.

    1. haha sounds like you have your own parking dilemmas. Those trucks with trailers sure like to take up quite a bit of space. Sledding is fun going down, but back up, ugg. I'd be perfectly content to never see it again too.

  10. The dog looking over the fence is hilarious. I'm sure if we had a yard that my dog would be doing the same thing. My dog is a little yapper dog so I understand how annoying a barking dog can be.

  11. I do think a sink hole should appear and suck up that snot parker. Here in TX, the problem is the monster trucks - they just take up two spaces and not on purpose - just overhang. Kinda like way too heavy people in an airplane seat who take up part of my space. Ugh.

I want snow on vacation in mountains where it belongs. Not messing up roads on a Monday morning commute.

Your little jaunts are really funny. Glad you do venture forth.

    1. Yeah, some vehicles are hard to get into one parking lot, as are such airplane people. Ugg to both. Snow in the mountains is where it should stay.

  13. We are supposed to get hit with lake effect snow this week. I almost cried when I heard the weather report. Hoping it's a big exaggeration, like usual!

Someone needs to leave a very special poem on that car!

    1. Yep, let's hope it is a big exaggeration indeed. No one needs that much.

That they do, with a few curse words too.

  14. Snow is coming here this week, OH NO! I am not ready for that white stuff it makes
    driving rather tough.

I notice people with fancy cars or new cars like to take up two spots so no one hits
them. Why not just park farther away instead of taking up two spaces?

I think human nature would make one take the right road but, knowing me I would
go left as it's against the grain of dirt. lol..

    How are you?

    1. We are supposed to get a little here, but we were supposed to get some Friday too, and nadda.

Yep, two spots they like to take. Farther away would make sense, but then oh no, they may have to walk a few more feet.

lol well nothing wrong with the other grain of dirt, unless you get stuck with no cellphone service.

      Surviving away at our bay.

  15. Unless the tree falls in space, yes.

  16. Yeah. People want to keep their cars from getting dinged by people. My dad used to joke that when he'd get a new car, he'd key it himself (just a tiny bit) so he wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  17. OH my GOODNESS! There is so much to love about your storytelling and those pictures. Comment 1: I'm always tempted to park in two spaces to protect my "Cadillac" but I also know that would make my car a target. I mean, why invite crazy? 2. That dog I want to kiss his or hers loving face. Such determination. and no, barking does not make a good neighbor. Not the dog's fault. 3. Kitty cats doing cat things makes me happy.

  18. Oh gosh, I have encountered cars taking up two parking spaces more than I want to! I'm not good at parking but at least I put my cars between two lines.

  19. I happen to live in a place where there's no winter. Well, there's winter, but the mornings are still 26C / 79F. And I can't complain because I hate the cold. In that way, we're opposites. Snow I can handle, but there's absolutely no reason that it shouldn't snow when it's freezing outside. (Speaking as someone from South Africa where it never snows in winter). But living in Jeddah means that I live in an eternal Summer - sounds like bliss until true summer hits and the city becomes the pit of hell.
On another note... cats have the best lives.

    1. Damn, I'd fry there. Still, when there is 5 feet of snow outside, it might be preferable. Not sure anything is preferable to the pit of hell though lol

      Cats sure have it made.

    2. Seems it would be best to adopt a bears life dear Pat. Sleep all winter, and wake up hungry. "Wake me up when April ends"... Green Day would have a field day.

    3. I might get sued for copyright infringement then. I know where to find some bears though. Maybe they'll let me share their cave.

Oh what I wouldn't give to stay indoors when snow is about though.

    4. Me too dear Pat, me too. Actually, what I'd give for some snow. And then what I'd give to stay indoors while the snow is outside... in other news, we had some cloud cover today - the first of its kind since I've been here (since July). Didn't rain though.

      Delete
    5. Stay indoors with snow is fine by me. Cloud cover for the first time in 5 months? Damn, you are in the pit of hell lol

  20. It's snowing here today and the freezing temps are about to settle in. Lots of accidents reported today. It's like people forget how to drive in this weather in a short 6 month span like we don't have to do it every. damn. winter.

I think good fences make good neighbors, but I'd be all for making friends over the fence with that doggy.

    1. Yeah, it seems when it starts people still think it is summer driving. But it does come back, so maybe they have a brain blockage after 6 months.

  24. I try not to drive into town as much as possible because so many drivers are SO crazy. I'm trying even more now not to ride on roads because drivers are SO distracted!!! But I love forks in dirt roads, and I often take both, just to see where they go. Except our roads are on huge hills. So trying to turn around can be quite the challenge.
