Just One More Then One More Then...

When you look at that do you count the clouds you see? Does your imagination fly free? Do you see what you can see? Are you counting and having a freak out before you flee? Maybe you focus on the tree. My, there are a many questions from me.

Little by little.
Day by day.
Plenty of spittle.
A shine from spray.

One number too many.
One number too low.
One freaks out any.
One goes with the flow.

A line in the sand.
A creation of numbers.
Crawl instead of stand.
Lose many night slumbers.

All due to large.
Nope. All due to you.
You left numbers in charge.
So away you stew.

One step is easy.
5000 a chore.
500 people make you queasy.
5 is a bore.

Stuck on the zeroes.
Stuck on the high.
Too many are for heroes.
With you it won't fly.

Look at the high.
Look and then look.
You'll just die.
Curl up in your nook.

But 5 is a breeze.
10 isn't so bad.
11 won't make you sneeze.
With 16 fun can be had.

One more step ahead.
One more attendee.
One more has no dread.
One more is carefree.

A different look.
A different state.
Another chapter in a book.
Not such a debilitating state.

Are you one of those? Catch on to the cat's highs and lows? Can you talk in front of 5 but not 50? Is 5 steps ok but 5000 not nifty? Do you look at the numbers and then just freak out? What's that about? One step, one word, one whatever, and you are closer to being done. Day by day it is spun. And if a few more are in view, can just think of it like a few more too. Or if all else fails act crazy and roll in the grass. It works for my little rhyming ass.

The high and low doesn't have to define yes or no.

    1. I try to do about. 8,000 steps a day but, in reality I take each day step by step.

Hmm, I don’t count clouds I just look for images as they drift away.

  4. 100000 steps sounds easy to those who forced to do 12 by court order.

  5. Maybe I should start counting individual naps throughout the day or grains of sand in the litter box!

  6. Was this picture from #cloudporn? Lol

Numbers can be intimidating. Public speaking in front of a select few people is very different than a speech in front of thousands. A 200 mile walk is very different than a 2 mile walk. I think it’s important to review the numbers before committing to anything, especially a walk!!

    1. lol nope, another one.

Bah, it's just talking. Nothing different about talking. Have to review and see what you can do.

    2. That’s not true at all!! I presented last Thursday and was freaking out until I learned it was for 4 people. Anything more than 10 people deserves a mini breakdown. Lol

    3. lol you? Freak out? Never would have guessed. Bah, same words. Just more people. The more people, the less you have to pay attention to anyone.

  10. 5 people or 5000 people - I'm just as comfortable speaking in front of them.

  11. Steps don't scare me but speaking in front of a large group of people does even though I am an attorney and used to do it all the time.

  12. I'm not afraid of numbers and liked math in school because there's always a correct answer and no maybe's about it.

  13. I get stage fright and can freeze up, or blank out and remember nothing about it. Done the latter twice in my life, once in school play which I acted but have no memory of performance at all and a piano recital same thing but I did well they tell me.

  17. I used to be obsessive about making sure I hit 10,000 steps each day, but stopped wearing my fit tracker about 5 months ago, so I have no clue where I'm at these days. I don't like speaking in front of crowds, even if it's a handful or a roomful. I'll freak out either way.

    1. Good not to be super obsessive though, so maybe best it was given a heave ho. haha just a few people? Even those you know?

    2. The people I know just want me to shut up, I'm sure. It's public speaking that I just can't do LOL

      Delete
    3. lol well throw a little public in with the people you know and then viola!

  18. If I have to hit 10,000 steps, it would take me 2 hours and sadly I can't do that everyday.

Great photo of you Pat. Hope all is well.

    1. I get that by 10 most days and then maybe 90,000 more, ugg, so not fun. All is getting well once more.

  19. Awesome cloud photo, Pat! I'm always watching the sky, because weather is fascinating. I don't like rolling in the grass: a deer might have peed on the spot, or there could be icky bugs, or maybe even a snake. I'll have to find another way to act crazy!

    1. haha dogs don't seem to mind. But yeah, I'm with you. Any animal could have peed there. But then all rain is someones pee, so technically you are drinking it. lol

  20. About 500 stitches does a snowflake take
    5,000 or 50,000 will a quilt make
Both are fun and make memories
One just takes lots longer... Geez!!!

    1. haha a lot longer indeed
But you get many done at your feed

  21. I don't like big crowds if that counts. Unless it's a big crowd of animals then I don't mind so much.

  22. It's the bloody crows that get me, thousands of the feckers!

  23. I love looking at clouds and could do it for hours. :) As for speaking in front of crowds- it depends on my mood, the crowd, and what I am speaking about.

  25. 6000 steps for me these days , alas. In my hey day I ran 6 miles a day which is 32,000.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't count steps but usually walk a mile each day. Clouds look like different things to me. Animals, faces, snow, mountains. Talking in front of people is not my favorite thing to do, but I will, if it's important.

  28. Sometimes I think it is easier to talk in front of a large audience than to carry on conversations with only a few! Thanks for being such a loyal commenter on my poems over the years!!
