What is that I see? Another one just flew over me. The tabbies are going to hate this post today, but I had to help Jax out as she is so whiny at her bay. I'd never hear the end of it if I didn't give her a go. So here we go with a bird show.
10 Reasons To Go To The Birds!
You could buy spray to keep the ticks away, but why do that? These guys can eat them and get fat.
(But they may miss a few, so check everywhere. Yes. ticks even crawl up your butt crack. Check EVERYWHERE!!)
You could buy an alarm system or a mean mutt, but these guys are all you need to protect your hut.
(And they may even protect it from you. Score!)
You could buy gates so no one can go down your driveway, but why do that when these guys stay in the way?
(And if you accidentally run over them, no damage. Did I say that? Whoops. Guess I better duck and cover.)
You could order food from the store, or you could just eat what comes out their bum at your shore.
(Now these do taste like chicken. If only they came in nuggets ready to go. What?)
You could buy lawn ornaments or the like, or just let this dude show off and let them take a hike.
(Plus, it doesn't fade like lawn ornaments. Double Win!)
You could put flamingos or other lawn ornaments on your lawn, or you could let this guy stand there from dusk to dawn.
(And they stay far far away. Just for those who don't like things up close and personal.)
You could watch that reality tv stuff, or you could buy a bird feeder and get this little thing.
(I mean how many teenage moms, hillbillies, and plastic people can you humans watch? Oh, wait. You elected one president. Maybe you need a bunch to pick the next one so you have better odds of getting one with even half a brain.)
And then you could have this guy cleanup the mess that the top guy eats. They all like the treats.
(Or they'll fight it out for the top. Entertainment!)
And when the day is through these guys can come fertilize the lawn for you. After they fertilize the playground and such. Don't worry, when it comes to crap they have much.
(And if you're really nice, any tiny humans around may water the garden for free.)
And if they come defective or the like, you can always make a meal and then relax after a long day's hike.
(They don't all taste like chicken.)
Now don't I have some great birding tips? Hmm are you saying I was licking my lips? Would I do that? Should I stick to being a rhyming cat? But I want to go birding too. They fill me up after a few. I'll keep the population down for her. That ought to make her purr. No? Only if she see's the birds by the ton? Damn. She's a lost cause. Oops I ate another one.
I was hoping to see quail :) But those first birds (turkeys??) are HUGE. I wouldn't want to meet them in a dark alley late at night!! Enjoyed the bird pictures. You had quite a variety. Keep sharing them if you want to. We don't get much bird action here except for those pigeon pests!
ReplyDeletebetty
lol I don't think we have those here, or at least not that I've found. Guinea Hens they be. Plenty of birds around here indeed.
DeleteGeese and swans will definitely keep people away.
ReplyDeleteYep. And they enjoy doing it too.
Deleteexcellent birding guide. I assume Audubon Society has called asking to buy this post. Geese are incredibly mean - I give them a wide berth at our local park. And I liked your prez comment - indeed...not even half a brain of a dodo bird. Fun pictures in this post. Happy Friday to you.
ReplyDeletelol making some dough would be nice. Good to avoid them indeed. Less than a dodo he surely is and then some.
DeleteThis post is for the birds! Lol on running over a goose. I admit to not being all that careful when they are moseying around a parking lot. They are definitely full of crap! We see all of these except the first guys. They are quite a sight.
ReplyDeleteFull of crap they be lol first guys are more pets around here than anything. So mean to not be careful in the parking lot lol
DeleteI think you're telling us your neighborhood has gone to the birds!
ReplyDeleteAnd then some lol
DeleteLol!!! Making fun of my birds now are you, cat?? I know a hawk or two that would change your mind! I kid, I kid! Blue Jays are a little better than vacuuming, but then you wouldn’t get a work out. Ugh to the geese! I wouldn’t go up that driveway either. The chickadee though, now that’s a little cutie I can watch all day. :)
ReplyDeletelol the cat had to poke fun. And you vacuuming is just weird. Cat will never let that go. lol the cat will take you up a geese filled driveway one day.
DeleteThat’s one adventure that even I would give a hard pass on.. LOL
Deletelol you won't have a choice once the cat leads you there
DeleteI never knew you were a birder, too. Of course, any feline is a birdwatcher, right? Ha ha! Great posts, great photos, but excrement nuggets... BLEH!!!
ReplyDeleteThe felines all watch the birds indeed. Yeah, those nuggets are nasty and can get every friggin where.
DeleteReally love the photos. Kids and cats! What more could one want! Thanks for visiting my blog, Pat. It has been a rough time here~
ReplyDeleteKids and cats and mutts too. All fun at our zoo. Hopefully things get better.
DeleteOh tabbies are gonna hate this post so much LOL! You have lots of birds to watch and it’s fun! Though, I’m more interested in watching your beautiful tummy :-)
ReplyDeletelmao yep. They'll hate it big time. Yeah. The tummy is a much better view.
DeleteThe older I get, the more I appreciate birds. Not like the well fed cat does, though I enjoy a chicken nugget every now and then.
ReplyDeleteYeah, a well fed cat may appreciate them more haha
DeleteYou got some great shots! Look at those kiddos.
ReplyDeleteFun post:)
The kiddos watched away as the geese crapped everywhere.
DeleteI like geese and ducks. My daughter went to a petting zoo over the weekend and held a duck.
ReplyDeleteDucks are more laid back, but geese can be nasty little turds.
DeleteThat is a great shot of the heron and bluejay.
ReplyDeleteSee many about as they pose and shout
DeleteTime For 10 Reasons to go to The Birds!

Great pics! Lots of exercise in those. lol
ReplyDeleteThat there be lol
DeleteWhere do the chickens come from?
ReplyDeleteIs it still raining?
Love the pic of the kiddos. They sure are having fun.
Chickens are on many a property here. Stopped yesterday but raining again today.
DeleteWhat kind of Bird is the first one? Love the feathers. I used to be chased by geese when I was little until I kicked one in the head..they left me alone then but it was years. Duck is good-all dark meat..yum....oops I am sounding like the cat. Love the peek-a-bod bird. With all those birds, you know there are many ugly turds. I am with the cat, better to sleep and enjoy the day.
ReplyDeleteGuinea Hen I think is what they are called. Never had duck haha all right to sound like the cat. You showed those geese who was boss.

lol they still talk about that sight as they burds pooped all over their playground and uncle Pattie wouldn't let them go play there lol
DeleteMy brother in law just moved onto a chicken farm. I was supposed to go over yesterday and chase the chickens around, but it started to rain. Birds aren't my favorite, but I do enjoy watching them from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI used to like to watch the birds come to our bird feeder years ago. I wouldn't have liked it if their aim had hit our porch though... luckily there were bushes under the bird feeder so I was none the wiser if they were dropping 'things.' :) I remember the first time turkeys ran through our yard, I was freaking out, lol. It was so exciting. It's the little things. :) No turkeys here, but we have other kinds of birds. :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the birds, Orlin! Especially the sweet little chickadee. It's one of my favorite birds, and I've only seen a few since I moved to Colorado. I had a couple of bird feeders in a cottonwood decades ago. Until one day when I noticed that a cooper's hawk was sitting between the feeders, and then an unsuspecting sparrow flew to the feeder. Within seconds that hawk had caught it, landed on a fencepost, and was ripping it apart. I was horrified and fascinated, and the feeders came down!
ReplyDeleteDamn, one smart hawk. Wait there and enjoy a meal too lol
DeleteDon't come for my reality TV, cat! Those are fighting words! I have a real housewives show just waiting to be watched on my DVR!
ReplyDeletePoor Jax. She's really upset about that bird. I guess I shouldn't tell her about the bird that stuck in my car grill when I was driving down the Belt Parkway. It was awful.
Elsie
lol old one eye and her reality tv. So shamful.
DeleteBetter not tell her that haha she'll have a freak out.
