A Story Of Balls

Pat was complaining about yet another storm.
Lately here that has been quite the norm.

My day was busy with picking on Cass.
She can sure be mean to my rhyming ass.

Then I heard them from out in the hall.
Damn it, they have come back after my ball.

They aren't getting it. No, sir. No friggin way.
I'll never let poop machines take it and play.

They skipped me and went to a big old bag.
That should have been yet another red flag.

For these are all mine. Each and every single one.
I don't care if I chew them and ruin your fun.

You just stick that bucket on your tiny head.
Then no one can understand what you just said.

I got most of them batted, but it was time to go.
That thing isn't petting me. Hell friggin no.

Pat should be here, but instead he was here.
That's a lot of fluffballs he feeds not so near.

Then he took in another view before coming back.
He complained more when stepping into our shack.

Then he helped them collect all of my hard work.
I spread them out and he picked them up like a jerk.

But I showed them when they went out for lunch.
I hid most of the balls that were in that bunch.

They looked and they looked and only found a few.
This one was pooped and slept right here in view.

The other was still going, however so slow.
He grabbed Pat's books and Uncle Pattie gave them a go.

Those poop machines are too short to give the report.
So upon high I sit retelling the story of my court.

Any interlopers stop on by there?
Do they come with balls to spare?
Take em and hide em is my advice.
My rhyming ass doesn't care if it's not so nice.

  3. We had 2 interlopers visit on Saturday. One just drools and the other one gets out every toy in the house and then repeats everything ad naseum. Sometimes Middle Child feels like Cassie!

Always fun to see your pics. Pretty view by the lake, but what in the world with those outdoor cats?

    1. Gotta watch those droolers, can create a slipping hazard haha round and round they'll go with toys.

A feral colony. The owner died and now just neighbors and such feed them.

  4. Sorry about those balls. Remember though, they have been drooled on.

    1. That they have indeed. But the cat got payback, as some went in the litterbox.

  5. We don't have those strange poop machines here so we can have a ball without them!

  6. Loved that bench's view though it seemed a bit cold! I think your interlopers are cute and I think they are good for the cat! The cat has to do some extra thinking when they are around!

  10. hahahaha Oh, boys and their balls (the cat included). LOL! If you don't have one yet, I suggest investing in a Mr. Bucket. It teaches the little bambinos the art of picking up the balls. The bucket rolls around all over the house. As it's rolling around, it spits little balls out of it its mouth for the kiddies to pick up and put back into the bucket. Bonus points for uncle pattie when you find the "lost" ball three weeks later under the radiator.

I still think Nanny should have put you all in time out for moving the mattresses. Bah hum bug.

  17. Hmm 🤔 I thought I commented yesterday? I guess Blogger ate my words, how absurd.

Miss Cassie looks a bit annoyed with Orlin. The boys
look like they are having fun at Uncle Pattie’s place.

The cats on the porch look rather large, have you been giving them too many treats?

You can have the snow mine is almost gone here. Makes driving much easier for me.

Are the dogs your neighbors? That's a lot of feral cats to feed but I'm sure they appreciate it.

  20. I'm sure the cats loved swatting at the balls more than the poop machines. I should get my grand kitty a ball pit and see what he thinks of it.

  22. Never a dull moment at your house. Such fun. Cats and kids go together. They can entertain each other, where I have to throw the balls for my cats. Oh, well. Good exercise. And the dog watches us through the door, thinking we're crazy.

  23. We keep trying to find things our cat will play with. She'll do the string thing, but only for a minute. Recently, we found out on accident that she likes to swat pencils across the floor. It amuses her for quite awhile too. Silly cat. :) That's awesome that you feed the cats that aren't yours, any time, but especially in cold weather!!

    1. Pencils Orlin will eat. Dumb cat lol At least you found something she'll play with, even if she swats it under the fridge. They sure get fed too, no matter the weather.

  24. The dogs and the kids were the stars of this show
Maybe even the cats, but for sure not the snow
    Too many balls laying around
Looks like my side of town
When the dogs and grands come to play
toys and balls always seem to stay
They end up hidden for quite some time
Until I hear my dobie whine
Then he makes me get the ball
Only to lose it again, after all
