Time For The Productive

Is it that time of year again? How many times have you said or heard that? I bet some people can't count that high. Then again, some people can't read that much either, so they may be in bliss as they say it. What? Is that not cheery for this time of year? Can a year have a time? Does it have its own clock? Is the clock a secret? Can a year be a year when it is just a human creation? All right, one more question before I fry any brain cells out there. Although that may be rough considering that weed is legal up here and the stoners are going to it. Guess I'll just fry other nations brain cells. Right! On with it.

Are there months or times of the year that you are more productive with your writing than other months, and why?

Ummm productive? What's that? Is that like doing things other than work? Hmmm I think that got lost somewhere along the way between the 9-5, cats, dogs, and kids.

Well since I hibernate more in the winter I guess that is when I can be more productive. Then again, not a fan of the super heat so I could be more productive then too. Or maybe it rains a lot in the spring and I'm more productive then. Unless spring brings a fling and then I'm more productive in the fall. Or maybe a pandemic comes and makes me more productive or less productive. Have I answered the question yet? I have a feeling this wouldn't qualify as productive.

Maybe I should just conclude that I am productive here and there and there is no rhyme or reason to it. Well maybe there is a rhyme to it some of the time. That can turn on a dime. Beats being a mime or sucking a lime. Or is it suck a lemon? Guess you'll have to ask a demon. Eye rhyme too. Whoa hoo!

Are there times when you are more productive than others? Has productive gotten lost in the grand scheme of things at your sea? Or maybe just productive in other ways. Like scooping the poop, wiping butts, going to the giant litterbox, or fighting the mutts for socks. That's productive, right?

And FYI if you have a manuscript you need to plug, this is a good way to do it. Coming soon!

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

  3. I'd say you are one of the most productive writers I know via blog world. Plus you've got a menagerie of cats and boys to corral. What is time?

  4. I’m most productive in the morning. Not sure time of year comes into play.

  5. I'm definitely more productive in the mornings and fade as the day goes on. That super heat here kind of drains me with minimal to no productivity during those times :)

  6. I think that's fine to be productive when you can. Sounds like your animals and kids keep you pretty busy, and those things are very important in life too.

  9. I have several productive days at work in a year. At home, not so productive as I have many distractions such as snacks, a pillow for napping, and adorable kitties :-) Not productive but happy :-)

  10. Scattered productivity works wonders, she said while gazing at the empty screen. Hey, hang the stockings, pet the cats, kick back and enjoy the wonders of December 2020. Yes, I'm being sarcastic.

  13. I'm more productive in the morning but my daughter sleeps all morning and is more productive at night. Makes for a weird household.

  14. Ha ha ha! People here have been cheering about all the weed legalized in other places, saying, "Good, now you can go back home and do it!" because users seemed to all flood here when we were tied for first in legalization.

I have always wished I could do NaNoWriMo because I wonder if I couldn't finish one of my works in progress with a hefty challenge. But Fourth Quarter is always so impossible to get anything personal done because work is so busy. Plus, my life has changed a bit in the last couple of years... I don't have a most productive time. Sometimes it feels as if I'm not productive at all! I admire you for all the writing you are able to finish.

    1. haha well that makes sense. Send em all back and leave em there.

Sometimes it can sure be a pain in the arse when things land. And yeah, life changes can pile on and get in the way.

  15. I had to laugh when you said "Unless there's a pandemic.." LOL The pandemic has certainly increased my productivity but decreased my accuracy and sanity. I didn't know how busy one can be until the schools closed, day cares closed, AND we were expected to homeschool while working full time and maintaining house. I like to think I'm always very productive sooo there's that!

    1. Sure changed things and showed the business all around. But productive you be, at least for most things. The enter extras don't count.

    2. The deleting of the enters was very productive. I stand by that.. LOL

  19. Hard to get writing time in between job, kids, cats and scooping for sure. But if anyone can do it, it's you:)

  21. Productive or non-productive for me it depends on my mood and time available. I have been working a lot of extra hours and dealing with an ill mother. It doesn't leave much time for anything else lately. I am tired at the end of the day. It sounds like you are a busy man, enjoy
life as it seems to be one day at a time around here.

    1. Time available is a big one indeed. As life can sure pile on the crap and then leaves little time for anything else.

  22. I'm productive in spurts. Doesn't matter the time of year. I am a bit more lazy in the winter since I hate moving in the cold, but overall, it just comes and goes.

  23. I don't write, but I am productive in spurts like Theresa said. Some days I come home from work and just want to cook dinner, clean up the kitchen and relax. Others I come home and am super busy. There is always something that needs to be done.
