Time For A Little Beta

Would that be a little beta or a lot beta? I guess that would depend on how long one drones on, huh? And that can be done here with ease. Maybe they would see it and run. Or maybe they would see it and stay. Or maybe they are dead so they can't see anything. Unless they are a ghost. But can ghosts see? See how this can spiral forever? Now we are going to get to it before we undo too much.

If you could choose one author, living or dead, to be your beta partner, who would it be and why?

Well I think I'd go with someone who is rich and famous and then that way when they promoted the book they beta read then it would sell a bunch and I could retire. It can be anyone. I'm not too picky. What? Artistic integrity? Pffft can't eat that. Give me the money any day.

Dr. Seuss would be a fun one though. Maybe his ghost will come to play. Makes more dead than most do alive. But then he can't spend it until ghosts get legal status, so he may be waiting a while. There is an idea for you. The ghost that got legal status. Then the family could try to kill it again so they can get to keep the money. My ramble can produce stuff.

Any authors you would like to meet? Are you a ghost believer? What do you think would happen if ghosts became citizens and kept control of their assets?

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

  1. Dr. Seuss would be perfect for you. You'd just have to remind him that the rhymes aren't always for kids...

  3. I’ve never had a ghost encounter, but know two people who have and they are quite reasonable folks otherwise, so I have to believe there’s something to it.

  7. Dr. Seuss fits you to a "T" I think! No ghost encounters but if they became citizens, I would hope they would go out and vote and learn the language of the country they lived in!

  8. A good choice of authors. A nice, kind, and generous person. And yes, there are some around.

  9. Definitely Stephen King for me. Dr. Seuss would be a fun one too, though.

  10. Dr. Seuss is perfect! And with all the books he's sold, he's probably rich, too. Trouble is, he's dead. Guess you'll have to go back in time for that one to work for you. :)

  11. Before you mentioned him, I thought of Dr. Seuss for you. I think his spirit is in you already. Poor guy (him, not you). Smiles.

    1. You should be glad that you are haunted
It means by Dr. Seuss you're wanted.

  12. I didn't think about a Beta reader promoting for me. Interesting.
I think Jon Krakauer would be fun to meet. Not that our books have much in common, but I think we'd get along.
Of course I believe in ghosts.
I don't know if including a link would knock out my comment, so I'll put it in another comment. But have you seen UPLOAD on Amazon video? It sort of touches on your question about death not stopping the need for money.

  15. "Makes more dead than most do alive" ~ LOL! I've loved Dr. Seuss since I was a little girl. I should have guessed that you would pick Seuss. A number of close relatives of mine have met ghosts, and it's hard for me to discount their experiences because I know them. But me ~ no. All the best! Take care!

  17. Yep, Dr. Seuss is the perfect fit for you. I'd have you and Bryan again. You were both great. I'd say Nelson DeMille because he's sarcastic like me but he'd leave in too much of my snark. Maybe Stephen King but he likes to drone on and on and on...so he'd leave in too much of my writing and my books would be as long his.

  21. Dr Seuss and the "Cat in the Hat" it seems so appropriate for you. You could always spin
a good rhyme or two. How are you doing? Robert Frost comes to mind for me. I visited his
house once and walked the grounds. I did feel it was haunted a tad.

  22. Well, this sure beats Dave the Wendy's Man like your last pick!! LOL Dr. Seuss is a fun one. I'm not sure who I would pick. The only author that I've ever read all of her novels is Jane Austen, but I don't think we'd have anything in common. My favorite childhood author is Roald Dahl, but I'm not sure about that one either. How about Chris Hemsworth as a visual aid? :)

    1. Yeah, she may be a bit different. What's wrong with Dave the Wendy's man? lol not sure visual aids count.

  24. Oh yeah, Dr. Seuss would be purrfect. He'd probably also fit in the rich and famous category.

  25. Dr. Seuss would be a great choice for you. I've been a beta reader for a couple of authors...it's a lot of work.

  26. S.E. Hinton, Beverly Cleary or Judy Blume for me. Those authors shaped my love of reading when I was a kid. It'd be fun to work with them (even though I am not a writer). :)

  27. Ha, ha, Marvellous Pat. Dr Seuss ! Ghosts getting their assets back ! Horrible ! Going through all that careful planning to get away with murder to be snuffed in a legal technicality ! No, no, no, ! No go ! Have an inspiring Indian Summer. If you have any rich beta readers to spare, send one my way .....

  28. Definitely some book ideas hidden in there...
But also key words if you are aware...
    Remember beta tapes, before 8-track?
Or when drones weren't Amazon delivery hack?
Or when yarn was a sweater and not feedback?
    And Seuss could poetically describe
Your rhyming adventures without a bribe!
